By means of its almost imbecilic reiteration, and sly, lewd, in plain fact, dirty lyrics, rock 'n' roll manages to be the martial music of every sideburned delinquent on the face of the earth.

The Time To Be Heard Is Now

It is prime time for television, half past 9:00 o’clock p.m., just a few hours after the president of the United States has commuted the sentence of a vice presidential aide convicted of a felony against the country.

Not one of the three major cable news networks is discussing the issue. MSNBC and Fox are talking about that wrestler who killed his wife and kid and might have been on steroids at the time. On CNN, Larry King is interviewing that actor who made homophobic slurs against a fellow member of the cast of his TV show and was fired.

(To be fair, Anderson Cooper on CNN did discuss the abominable situation on his show at 10:00 p.m.)

I guess Paris Hilton was busy. She served more time in jail than a member of the current presidential hierarchy did after he was convicted of outing a member of the CIA.

Bury the rag deep in your face, now is the time for your tears.

I am livid. The arrogance and hubris of George Bush and his puppeteer, Dick Cheney, is criminal. These men are felons. At every turn they have bent and/ or ignored the constitution of the U.S. to do their will. They have now undermined the entire legal system of our once mighty republic.

They smugly carry on their agenda without the slightest care whether it is good for anybody other than those who paid to get them elected.

My fingers are trembling. My heart is racing. This is a group of scalawags who have made Richard Nixon and John Ashcroft appear to be reasonable men.

And we’re more worried about ‘roid rage. It’s a legitimate concern, but the country is in serious peril and we are dancing with Paris while it burns.

The plight of New Orleans and the Gulf Coast remains unattended to. The nation’s health care insurance system is in need of major overhaul. Americans are dying daily in a war that has now taken our soldiers’ lives for a longer period than involvement in WWII. The administration lied about our need to be in Iraq. Then committed treason against the country by going after those who revealed the treachery. And all they do is protect their own, the rest of us be damned.

The TIME IS NOW for you. And for me. For all of us. To shout as loudly as we can:

I’m mad as hell and I’m not going to take it anymore.

Normally, I would make some sort of smart-assed comment concerning the state of our union, but quite frankly I just want to go somewhere and puke! These ass-clowns have betrayed the support and trust of the entire civilized world! Whatever god or supreme being that brings you comfort, had better be open for business, because if we ever needed devine help, that time would be now!
