But here’s my question about this generally under appreciated rock & roll superstar. How come he’s not playing the Belvedere at a real Louisville music festival? Gray Matters About “Gray Matters”

I’ve got a couple of issues with a film I’ve just seen titled Gray Matters. Those issues are but peripherally related to the movie itself.

Few of you have seen the film. It’s playing first run at a second run house, Village 8. Which is one of the issues I want to address.

Whither New Orleans? — Update ’07

New Orleans needs help.

There’s a small Starbucks in Canal Place, a tony shopping mall at the edge of the French Quarter. Last year during April’s JazzFest, the first after Katrina hit, the coffee shop had not reopened. Now it has.

Over the counter, hovering above a sizeable early morning line of turista in need of caffeine, is a sign that reads: “Now Hiring!!! Baristas. Flexible Hours. AM & PM. 401K. Stock Options. Health Insurance. Tuition Reimburse.” Read the rest of this entry »
